City May Increase Fee For Yard Trash Pickup
the city of Blackshear is considering
contracting out the city's yard trash collection, and Southland
Waste Services Inc. has given the city a proposal that would cost
city residents over $8.00 per month. City residents presently pay
$4.50 for the service, but Billy Gillis from Southland says that fee
does not cover the cost of pickup. He says the city's general fund
is presently subsidizing the yard debris pickup service.
